Alcohol-Free Vs. Alcohol-Based: Which Tincture Is Right For You?

Herb Lore offers both alcohol-free and alcohol-based options of its tinctures to meet individual preferences and needs. The alcohol-based tincture uses organic grape alcohol to effectively extract the active compounds from the herbs, ensuring maximum potency. For those sensitive to alcohol, the alcohol-free version features a vegetable glycerine base, providing a gentler, sweeter taste while still delivering the same benefits.

If you choose the alcohol-based tincture but find the taste too sharp, it can be easily mellowed out by adding the dose (2 droppersful) to a small amount of hot water. This process evaporates the alcohol, leaving only the herbal properties behind. For context, a single dose of the alcohol-based tincture contains approximately the same amount of alcohol as eating a very ripe banana.

 

Start with 2 droppersful (squeezes) 3x per day. If needed, increase frequency or amount. Many moms find success by taking it each time they nurse or pump.
