Valerian Root Tincture – Organic Support for Sleep & Relaxation by Herb Lore

Price range: $23.99 through $36.99

  • Traditionally used to support relaxation, ease restlessness, and promote restful sleep

  • Gentle, alcohol-free formula safe for kids, adults, and even during pregnancy

  • Add to water for instant valerian tea — no steeping, no stress

Some herbs feel like a soft exhale and Valerian Root is one of them. This organic, alcohol-free tincture is here to support calm, rest, and a sense of emotional balance when the day (or your brain) just won’t slow down.

Valerian has long been used to help ease restlessness, emotional tension, and support natural sleep rhythms without leaving you groggy or fogged up in the morning. And while it’s often taken before bed, many parents swear by it during the day for helping kids (and grown-ups) with busy, bouncing brains feel more balanced and grounded.

This version is safe for the whole family, including pregnant and nursing mamas and no steeping required. Just a few droppersful under the tongue or in a cup of warm water makes for an easy wind-down ritual. Think of it as your herbal pause button.

A quick heads-up: In rare cases, valerian can have the opposite effect and make you feel more awake. If over-the-counter sleep aids tend to energize you instead of calm you, this herb might do the same. If that’s you, Skullcap could be a better match.

Adults: Use 1-2 droppersful (squeezes) of the tincture as desired. It’s handy to keep by the bedside.

Children: Use the age-appropriate dose as suggested in the Children’s Dosage Guide.

Made with certified organic valerian root and extracted in a base of organic vegetable glycerine and distilled water. Like all Herb Lore tinctures, it’s non-GMO, gluten-free, and never tested on animals ever.

Other ways to determine dosage:
Young’s Rule – Add 12 to the child’s age. Divide the child’s age by this total. Example: dosage for a 4 year old: 4 divided by 16 (4+12) = .25, or 1/4 of the adult dosage.

Cowling’s Rule – Divide the number of the child’s next birthday by 24. Example: dosage for a child who is 3, turning 4 would be: 4 divided by 24 = .16, or 1/6 of the adult dosage.
